Remove a Scratch on Your Car the Dealership Way

How To Remove an Old Milk Smell From Your Car

Face it. Nothing, and we mean nothing, smells worse than spoiled milk spilled on the carpet of your car. So how do you remove the old milk smell from your car? Some will say buy a new car. But we have a few tricks up our sleeve that should help to take that nasty milk smell right out.

If you have a steam cleaner, start with that. This will pull some of the old milk out while cleaning the area. Then, go to your local pet store and purchase a bottle of cat and dog urine odor remover. This is an enzyme cleaner that will break down the protein in the milk that has soaked in to your carpet. Saturate the carpet with the enzyme cleaner and blot. Now, place crumpled newspaper around the smelly spot to help absorb the odor.

If the car still smells after using the enzyme odor remover, mix warm water, vinegar, baking soda and dish detergent together and pour over the old milk. Do not rub, but rather blot the liquid with thick towels. Place more newspaper around the smelly carpet to absorb any remaining odor.
