Grocery shopping is an every day type of event for most of us. Strolling down the aisles, looking for the best deals… nothing suspicious, right? Wrong.

The next time you are pushing that cart, stop and turn directly toward the food items. What do you see at eye level? Probably one of the most expensive things in the aisle.

And even worse? Now look down to your child’s eye level. Notice the brightly colored packaging? The sugary and quite expensive treats and cereals? Those were purposely placed right where your child’s eye will fall.

Finally, watch for those items at the end of the aisles that are unrelated to the section you are shopping in. These were placed there in the hopes that shoppers will assume the items are on sale - and if not, that they will be thrown in the cart as an impulse purchase.

Buyers beware, and be smart!
